Welcome to St Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic Parish
Announcement : As you may have heard a couple weeks ago, Fr. John announced that he will be departing St. Aloysius Parish on September 30th. We wish him well and assure him of our prayers. Moving forward, the Archdiocese of Detroit has informed our Family of Parishes (which includes St. Aloysius Parish, St. Stephen Parish, and St. Anthony Parish), that St. Aloysius will not be getting another priest after September 30th. Fr. John Hedges and Fr. Bryan Shackett will continue to care for the spiritual well being of the parishioners of our parish. However, given the reality of moving from three priests to two priests, this does mean that the current Mass schedule will need to be reduced. We understand that this is very difficult and upsetting, but unfortunately we will no longer be able to offer weekday Masses or Mass and confessions on Saturday evenings. We will have Mass on Sundays at 12:45 pm starting October 5th and we will have adoration and confessions on Tuesday evenings starting on October 7th. St. Stephen and St. Anthony Parishes invite parishioners of St. Aloysius to join us for their daily Masses and Saturday evening Mass and confessions. Fr. John Hedges and Fr. Bryan Shackett will be walking with us during this challenging time and thank us ahead of time for our patience. They both want us to know of their prayers and that Our Lord Jesus Christ, now as always, is with us.
Mission Statement : St. Aloysius is a friendly parish with a sense of family. Gathered in the name of Jesus Christ to pray and worship, we serve one another with understanding and compassion. Our mission is to share, live and witness the Gospel, as we celebrate the sacraments and practice the works of Christian service, education, justice and peace. We support a vision for growth rooted in the belief that all things are possible when trusting in God.
